Ylang Ylang,

Ylang Ylang Cananga odorata essential oil is said to be a powerful aphrodisiac and it is wonderful for the soul.

Native to Southern India, Java, Malaysia, the Philippines and other Pacific islands, the Cananga odorata is the true Chanel No.5 Perfume Tree. Its common name is Ylang-Ylang, pronounced (ee-lang ee-lang) and is among the most celebrated flowering trees in the world

Made famous by Coco Chanel who in 1923 said upon introducing Chanel No.5 in Paris,

"I wanted a perfume that is composed - not hints of roses or lilies of the valley. A woman's perfume - redolent, evocative of a woman. A perfume unlike any other ever made. The ideal scent for a woman."

This is said to be one of 'The' Oils for those who desire to become totally intoxicated with great love making pleasures.

Ylang Ylang has a fragrance that is sweet and heady and is for those of you who are seeking increased Libido and desired attraction with your lover.

I do suggest you consider using this oil with respect and caution.

It means 'flowers of flowers' and you can find pink, mauve and yellow flowered varieties. The best oil comes from the yellow flowers, which are picked very early in the day, in early summer.

If you ever feel like venturing off for an exotic holiday, take your lover on an adventure to one of the Pacific Islands where this plant grows. Gather some fresh flowers and cast the fragrant, pale yellow petals across your courtship bed as a symbol of love.

Enjoy the pleasures.

The essential oil of the Ylang Ylang plant is produced by steam distillation. The flowers may be distilled several times, and the oil varies in quality, depending on the distillation and the season, just as wine quality can be effected by the seasons.

The first distillation and the finest oil is known as 'extra'. Only this 'extra' has the required properties for therapeutic use.

The chemical constituents of Ylang-Ylang are many and varied.

You need to know they include methyl benzonate, methyl salicilate, geraniol, linalol, eugenol, ylangol, terpenes safrol, benzyl acetate and pinene. It also contains a combination of benzoic, salicylic, formic, acetic and valeric acids.

The most important property of ylang-ylang is its ability to slow down rapid breathing and rapid heart rate. It is especially useful in shock and trauma situations.

Ylang-Ylang is said to be good for any skin as it balances the natural oil production.

Its sweet, heavy, distinctive fragrance is used widely in perfumes and cosmetics.

Its softer floral scent is often used in men's fragrances as an alternative to the sweeter and more feminine rose.

Like the three major aphrodisiac oils - Rose, Neroli and Jasmine - Ylang-Ylang is beautifully uplifting emotionally and relaxing.

The calming effect of this oil may be the reason it is considered an aphrodisiac as using it can lessen tensions or anxieties.
